Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 24, 2026  ·  RosyVelvet.com

Short version: We don't sell your data. We use standard analytics and affiliate links. If you click a product link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

1. Who we are

RosyVelvet ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at rosyvelvet.com. We publish product reviews, buying guides, and recommendations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and what choices you have.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Usage data — pages visited, time on site, referring URL, browser type, device type (desktop/mobile/tablet), and approximate geographic region (country/city level only).
  • Click data — when you click a product link, we record the link clicked, timestamp, device type, and a hashed visitor identifier. We do not store your full IP address — only the first three octets (e.g. 192.168.1.x).
  • Session cookies — a temporary session ID stored in a cookie to help us understand traffic patterns. This cookie expires after 24 hours.
  • UTM parameters — if you arrive via a link with UTM tracking parameters (e.g. from a newsletter or social post), we record those to understand which channels bring visitors.

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or any personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly.

3. How we use your information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Understand which content and products are most useful to readers
  • Measure the effectiveness of affiliate links and product recommendations
  • Improve site performance and user experience
  • Detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent clicks
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, retargeting, or sell it to any third party.

Disclosure: RosyVelvet is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate programs. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.

When you click a product link on RosyVelvet, you are redirected through our short-link system (/go/CODE) which records the click for analytics, then forwards you to the retailer (e.g. Amazon). The retailer may set their own cookies on your device. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site:

We only earn a commission if you complete a qualifying purchase. We do not know who makes purchases — Amazon does not share customer identity with us.

5. Cookies & tracking

We use the following cookies:

  • rv_sid — a session identifier, expires after 24 hours. Used to count unique visitors to product links. This cookie is not used for advertising and contains no personal data.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other third-party advertising trackers. Our analytics are first-party only, stored in our own database.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not affect your ability to read content on this site, though click tracking on product links may behave differently.

6. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Amazon PA API — to retrieve product data (titles, prices, images). Amazon may log API requests. See AWS Privacy Policy ↗.
  • OpenAI API — to generate draft blog post content. Content is generated server-side; no visitor data is sent to OpenAI. See OpenAI Privacy Policy ↗.
  • Reddit RSS feeds — we read public subreddit RSS feeds to discover trending products. No user data is sent to Reddit.
  • Bootstrap CDN / Google Fonts — used for styling. These services may log your IP address when serving static assets.

7. Pinterest integration

RosyVelvet uses the Pinterest API to automatically publish product review pins to our Pinterest boards when new blog posts are published. This integration:

  • Operates server-side only — no Pinterest tracking code is embedded on this website
  • Publishes pin content (title, description, image, and link) to our own Pinterest account
  • Does not collect or transmit any visitor data to Pinterest
  • Does not use Pinterest for advertising or retargeting visitors of this site

If you follow our Pinterest boards or interact with our pins, Pinterest's own privacy policy applies. See Pinterest Privacy Policy ↗.

8. Data storage & security

Analytics and click data are stored in a private database hosted on a secure server. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security updates.

We retain click analytics data for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Hashed visitor identifiers are rotated daily and cannot be used to identify individual users.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to the processing of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, we are generally unable to identify individual users in our analytics. To exercise any of these rights or to ask questions, please contact us at the address below.

10. Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact us
